Sand Filling Systems

Complete Installation for storage, pneumatic conveying and loading of the Locomotive and rail cars sand tanks.

These equipments basic composition is the following:

Silo for sand storage:

• - Filters to relieve the silo from the remaining air generated during the material conveying from the tank lorries to the silos, helping to prevent environment’s pollution.
• - Level sensors, to prevent overfilling of the silo and to monitor the real sand content in the silo.
• - Safety valve to avoid overpressures in the silo (according to regulations).

Distributor, for driving the sand from the silo to the sand dispensers through pipes.
Piping system for conveying the sand from the tank lorries to the storage silo, from the silo to the sand dispensers and for the return of the polluted fines.

Pneumatic sand dispensers, for the sand injection to the sand tanks,

• - Pressurized sand tank
• - Pressure control during the sand filling
• - Elastic hose
• - Nozzles provided with automatic stop to prevent overfilling

Control and signposting cabinet

• - Automatic or manual operation
• - A monochromatic industrial screen and specific software for sand dispensers, to display the operation data, alarms and programmable automation state.

Compressor (Optional - depending on the depot’s compressed air availability).

There is also the possibility of providing:

Mobile Suppliers
Autonomous transport units, which can be loaded directly from a silo, and driven to the desired point for the sand unloading.
